Political parties demand to send an all-party delegation to the valley

Parliament witnessed a heated blame game on Wednesday when Congress and BJP started throwing mud at each other for the ongoing Kashmir issue. While BJP held Congress responsible for the situation in J&K, the latter questioned BJP that why is it not focusing enough for the betterment of the same, reported TNN.

“J&K has been an important and serious issue since the time of independence. If someone needs to introspect it’s the Congress. It needs to introspect about whose decision it was that has led to this situation in J&K,” BJP MP Anurag Thakur said in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

“Secure our borders and people, we are with you but act. Act with a plan,” Congress MP from Madhya Pradesh’s Guna, Jyotiraditya Scindia said, addressing the government. He also went ahead to reprimand the BJP for not taking adequate steps to take stock of the situation in the troubled state. “Govt should tell the nation why no one went there to take stock of the situation,” Scindia raised the question. Scindia also added that over the last two years, since the BJP government came to power at the Centre, the situation in the Valley has “deteriorated” and has become “disappointing”.

As the House took up a discussion on the ongoing trouble in Kashmir, various parties demanded sending an all-party delegation to the valley even as Anurag Thakur, speaking on behalf of the ruling BJP, said every political party should come together and help in dealing with such situations.

Normal life has been disrupted and completely spoiled across Kashmir due to violent protests by separatist groups and civilian killings after Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani was killed by security forces in an encounter.
