'Agnipath' Protests In 7 States, Mobs Burn Trains, Block Roads
Mob set trains on fire in several states this morning as the protests over the new military recruitment policy, Agnipath, entered the third consecutive day today. The government has defended the scheme, calling it "transformative".

As per news report of NDTV, The house of Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi was attacked in Bettiah in Bihar's West Champaran district amid protests against the new recruitment scheme that has set off a firestorm. "Such type of violence is very dangerous for the society. The protesters should remember that this is a loss for the society," Ms Devi, who is currently in Patna, told NDTV. Bihar has bore the brunt of the violence with trains set ablaze, window panes of buses smashed and passersby attacked with stones and the storming of the BJP's offices in one district. This morning, agitated youth sat on railway tracks and blocked roads at many places across the state. In the Begusarai district, students created a huge ruckus at a railway station, and also indulged in arson and stone-throwing. Two coaches of the Jammu Tawi Express train were set on fire in Samastipur district, officials told NDTV, adding no one was hurt in the incident. A BJP office was also attacked in Lakhisarai district.
