August 29, Paris
Editor of Cobrapost, Aniruddha Bahal, spoke at the UNESCO Head Quarters on August 29. Bahal spoke about the perils of investigative journalism and particularly the prevalence of paid news in Indian media.
In a question and answer session Bahal said that children have to be taught how to consume media with a critical eye between the grades 6 and 8 in school. That “media consumption” has to be a subject in school curriculum.
He further said that you need the ingredients of talent, time, luck and resources to successfully chase investigations.
A lot of the questions referred to Cobrapost’s own journey in navigating the aftermath of their investigations.
