Centre's Big Covid Meet As China Cases Surge, Masks Are Up

The Covid surge in China has sent alarm bells ringing in India. Union Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya today held a high-level review meeting with top officials and experts to chalk out the strategy to prevent another spike in cases.

As per news report of NDTV, Photographs from the meeting showed the minister and all the top officials wearing masks, even though it is no longer mandatory under the government's protocol. Earlier, sources said discussions in the review meeting would be held primarily on six key points. These include a strategy to block incoming cases at the international and domestic airports, laying down guidelines for passengers travelling from abroad, and consultation with experts on the new variant of Covid.
