COVID-19 cases climb to 81,970

In India the death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 2,649 and the number of cases climbed to 81,970 on Friday, registering an increase of 100 deaths and 3,967 cases in the last 24 hours since Thursday 8 AM, according to the Union Health Ministry.

As per news report of PTI, the number of active cases stood at 51,401 while 27,919 people have recovered and one patient has migrated, it said. "Thus, around 34.06 per cent patients have recovered so far," a senior health ministry official said.
