Devendra Fadnavis To Be Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde As Deputy: Sources
The BJP's Devendra Fadnavis is set to return as Chief Minister of Maharashtra after a dramatic week that saw Uddhav Thackeray resigning after losing most MLAs in his Shiv Sena in a rebellion. Eknath Shinde, the man who led that revolt, will be Deputy Chief Minister.

As per news report of NDTV, Mr Fadnavis and Mr Shinde will meet with Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and stake claim to power at 3 pm, sources say. Mr Fadnavis is likely to be sworn in tomorrow, over two years after he took oath in a dawn ceremony but was forced to quit four days later. He will take charge with a small cabinet to start with, say sources. Uddhav Thackeray quit as Maharashtra Chief Minister yesterday, shortly after the Supreme Court ruled that he must prove his majority. The Shiv Sena chief was left with only 13 MLAs after the revolt that played out in three BJP-ruled states. Mr Shinde and a group of rebels first moved to Gujarat's Surat in luxury buses. They were flown to Assam's Guwahati in chartered flights. They landed in Goa last evening to prepare for a possible test of strength.
