As per news report of NDTV, this morning, Eknath Shinde tweeted to say that the state government has security cover provided at the residences of 16 rebel legislators, including himself, and dubbed the action as "political vendetta". "The government is responsible for protecting them and their families," he said. The charges, however, were denied by Sanjay Raut, Sena's chief spokesperson. Uddhav Thackeray has called a national executive meeting in Shiv Sena Bhavan at 1 pm. On Friday, Mr Thackeray convened a meeting of the district chiefs in which he said that the rebel MLAs wanted to "break the party".
