Haryana Maker Of Cough Syrups Flagged By WHO Didn't Do Testing: Notice
A week after the World Health Organisation reported that as many as 66 children in Gambia may have died after consuming Indian made cough syrups, the Haryana government has stopped their production, news agency ANI reported.

New Delhi, 12 October 2022

As per news report of NDTV, major irregularities in manufacture have been found at the facilities of Maiden Pharmaceuticals, the Haryana based manufacturer of the syrups. "Samples of 3 drugs mentioned by WHO of Sonipat's pharmaceuticals company were sent to Central Drug Lab in Kolkata. The reports are not in yet, action will be taken after that," Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij told ANI, adding that, however, a joint inspection by the Central and Haryana state drug departments found around 12 flaws in manifacturing. "Keeping which in mind, it has been decided that the total production shall be stopped; notice given," Mr Vij added.
