As per news report of AIR, Sitharam stressed the need to mobilise finance at sub-national level for inclusive and quality infrastructure. Addressing a meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in Washington, Ms. Sitharaman said, international tax rules should be simple, administrable, and generate meaningful revenue in developing countries. The Finance Minister also called for an effective tax reporting regime and information exchange between jurisdictions for crypto assets to combat offshore tax evasion. She said that today's global economy faces a confluence of challenges and it is the collective responsibility of everyone to prevent the risks from aggravating. Ms. Sitharaman said India views the hosting of the G20 Presidency as an opportunity as well as a responsibility.
