"Jealous": Mamata Banerjee's Swipe After Centre's 'No' To Rome Meeting

As per news report of NDTV, Ms Banerjee said the centre had told her the event is "not commensurate at your level". Outgoing German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Pope Francis are among nearly 500 religious and political leaders invited to the two-day peace conference. "There was a meeting on world peace in Rome, where I was invited. German Chancellor, Pope (Francis) are also supposed to attend. Italy had given special permission for me to attend... yet centre denied clearance, saying it wasn't right for Chief Minister," Ms Banerjee said Saturday.
