Jharkhand ropeway mishap: One dead, 18 rescued
Eighteen of the 48 people stranded mid-air following a collision of ropeway trollies on Sunday in the Deoghar district of Jharkhand were rescued on Monday, said Deoghar deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri and added that 30 people are still stuck in trolleys.

As per news report of The Indian Express, the mishap occurred Sunday evening over the Tirkut Pahad area. One woman died and another person suffered serious injuries, according to officials. Bhajantri said: “Personnel of Indo-Tibetian Border Police, Indian Army, Indian Air Force and NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) reached the spot in the morning for rescue work. One person died in the incident and one who sustained serious injuries is being treated. We are doing continuous announcements so that the people stranded won’t panic.”
