Imphal: The self-styled ‘Chief Commander’ of a hill-based militant outfit was allegedly shot dead by unidentified miscreants in the wee hours of the morning today, police said.

The 55-year-old Lalthangsang, leader of Hmar National Army (HNA), was killed at his Hmar Veng village residence in Churachandpur district, they said.

The militant was shot dead at around 1 AM, a police officer added.
