Actor-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerged as the single-largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly after the April-May election and formed the government with support from former DMK allies Congress and other smaller parties.

As per news report of NDTV,Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay hit back at critics who have labelled his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam an 'actor's party', and served up a pointed reminder of the TVK's success in the April-May election in an Assembly speech Tuesday morning.
