Now, Mohan Bhagwat loses blue tick from Twitter account, Venkaiah Naidu’s restored

Twitter on Saturday withdrew the blue verified badge from personal Twitter handles of Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. While it was restored on Naidu’s account within a few hours, an RSS spokesperson said it was not a good move on the part of Twitter.

“We have taken cognisance of the matter and are looking into it,” an RSS spokesperson said. Bhagwat’s handle has 209k followers and he has not tweeted anything since he joined it. As per news report of The Indian Express, sources in the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh said Bhagwat’s account had remained inactive because there are established channels of communication in the Sangh set-up and statements are issued only through those channels.
