"Official Not Taking Calls" - Akhilesh Yadav Party's Poll Charge

Bypolls in one Lok Sabha seat and six Assembly constituencies are being held today. The most prominent among them is Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri parliamentary seat, vacated due to the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav.

As per news report of NDTV, Elections are also being held on two assembly seats - Rampur Sadar and Khatauli -- in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar's Kurhani, Chhattisgarh's Bhanupratappur, Rajasthan's Sardarshahar and Odisha's Padampur. The Akhilesh Yadav-led party has fielded his wife and former MP Dimple Yadav in Mainpuri. Mr Yadav led an extensive campaign in the party stronghold in the run-up to the election. About 3 hours after voting began, Ms Yadav tweeted that she had been trying to reach the district magistrate to flag polling irregularities, but her calls were not answered.
