Random Covid Testing At Delhi Airport From Today, Rail, Bus Stations Next

Passengers at Delhi Airport - arriving from the states witnessing a coronavirus surge - will be tested randomly from today and "those found positive shall be mandatorily quarantined," the government has said. The move will be followed next at railway and bus stations.

"Delhi Disaster Management Authority shall conduct random COVID-19 testing of passengers coming from the states where the cases are increasing," read a statement tweeted by the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL). After collection of samples, the travellers will be allowed to exit. However, "those passengers who are found positive shall be mandatorily quarantined at their place of stay" or a hospital for 10 days, as per the Health Ministry protocols, a statement by the DDMA had elaborated last week before Holi.
