As per news report of NDTV, Rakesh Tikait also demanded Rs. one crore compensation and a government job for the family members of the deceased farmers. "After our demands are met, then only we will cremate them (farmers)," he said at a press conference. Eight people were killed on Sunday as violence erupted during a farmers' protest, claiming the lives of both farmers and BJP workers ahead of a visit to Lakhimpur by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya.
