As per news report of The Indian Express, the encounter took place at Theegalametta forest areas in Koyyuru Mandal under the Mampa Police Station jurisdiction.Officials said the encounter occurred during a routine Greyhounds Police patrolling in the area. While a combing-and-search operation is still underway, out of the six killed, two are women, and several others escaped. An AK-47, one SLR, one Carbine, three .303 rifles and one country-made revolver were recovered from the scene. A police statement said that among those killed is a senior Maoist leader.
