Soldier Killed In Action, 2 Terrorists Shot Dead In J&K Encounter

One Indian Army soldier was killed and two others were injured during an encounter with terrorists in Shopian area of south Kashmir today. Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were also killed in the encounter.

As per news report of NDTV, The police said one of the terrorists killed has been identified as Adil Wani, who was involved in the killing of a carpenter from Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur, three days back in Pulwama. A massive operation to flush out terrorists from a forest area in Poonch has been going on since the last 10 days. Officials said security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Dragad area of Shopian district today following information about presence of terrorists there. The search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists opened fire on the security forces who retaliated.
