As per news report of The Indian Express, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India U U Lalit stayed the demolition of structures situated on a particular survey number, allowing other parts of the beach shack to be razed. The bench also asked the restaurant owners to suspend commercial activities for the time being. The Supreme Court’s order came a day after the NGT dismissed an appeal filed by the owner of Curlies against a 2016 order of the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) ordering the demolition of its structures, allegedly in violation of Coastal Zone Regulation (CRZ) norms.
