Footage posted online by a US Marine provides a behind-the-scenes look at America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, showing images of panic and chaos at the Kabul airport in stark contrast to rosier visuals issued by the Pentagon.

As per news report of Rt.com, the incredible first-person footage, apparently filmed from a GoPro mounted on a helmet, was posted to Instagram this week by Marine Corporal Mike Markland, giving a raw, unvarnished look at the hasty evacuation op. While Markland has since pulled down the eight-minute video – explaining that “important people … are forcing me to delete it” – the clip was archived and reposted elsewhere online.
