Third arrest in connection with app hosting doctored photos

A team of cyber police officials from the Mumbai Crime Branch Wednesday arrested one more accused from Uttarakhand for allegedly posting obscene and derogatory content on an application, which hosted doctored photographs and objectionable comments targeting Muslim women in the country.

As per news report of The Indian Express, the accused was identified as Mayank Rawat, 21, a student who was in touch with the other accused in the case, Shweta Singh, 18, and Vishal Kumar Jha, 21. The police said the three are part of a larger team. Like Mayank, Shweta and Vishal were allegedly handling multiple Twitter accounts to post the ‘obscene’ content.
