Mumbai: Three people were killed and two others injured after an SUV collided head-on with a taxi on the Eastern Freeway in Trombay, police said.

The mishap occurred at around 9:30 AM at Jijamata Nagar, a senior police officer said.

Three people, including the taxi driver, were killed on the spot, he said.

Two of the deceased were identified as Jaswant (40) and Vijay (45), the officer said, adding that the two injured have been hospitalised.
