UP Bill To Curb Lift Crashes Makes Rescue Device, Alarm Mandatory

As per news report of NDTV,In the wake of several incidents of lift malfunction in Delhi-NCR, leading to deaths and injuries, a legislation to ensure safety of lift occupants will be introduced in Uttar Pradesh Assembly today. The Bill makes it mandatory for building authorities to ensure rescue devices in elevators. Lifts, the Bill adds, must also have emergency alarms and CCTVs.
