UP Teen "Thrashed" By Police For Violating Curfew, Dies; Cops Suspended
Two police constables in Uttar Pradesh 's Unnao district have been suspended and a case has been registered against them after a 17-year-old boy died on Friday after being allegedly thrashed by the cops in custody for "violating the ongoing corona curfew'' in the state. A home guard, who was initially suspended, has also been dismissed from service, the police has said in a statement.

As per news report of NDTV, the incident took place when the boy was reportedly selling vegetables outside his house in Bangarmau town in Unnao, which is about 65 kms from state capital Lucknow. He was allegedly picked up by the cops, taken to the local police station and assaulted badly following which his condition deteriorated and he was rushed to the Community Health Centre, where he was declared dead, the boy's family alleged.
